HISTORY OF BEANTOWN BABY DIAPER BANK

Beantown Baby Diaper Bank was founded in August 2018 by Rachel Segaloff, a mom of 2 and passionate diaper need advocate. Since 2012, Rachel has raised over 580,000 diapers to support local families in need. December 2022 marked our 10th anniversary of running diaper drives and getting diapers out to those in need.

Rachel learned about a local diaper bank in Waltham, MA that would accept unopened baby formula she had received as samples from the formula companies. Upon arriving at the door of this diaper bank, baby in hand (aka bucket car seat!), Rachel inquired more about the diaper bank. It was then that she learned about diaper need, and as she couldn’t imagine not having an adequate supply of diapers for her own baby, she wanted to help make sure other families in her community had enough clean diapers for their babies.

In 2017, Rachel received the “Unsung Heroes” award from the Waltham Lions Club for her volunteer efforts in raising thousands of diapers for babies in Waltham, and for creating greater awareness of diaper need.

In 2020, Rachel was selected for the “Smile With Lays” Campaign and appeared on a Lay’s Potato Chip Bag along with 29 other “smilers” from across the country.

I want to run a diaper drive! Where do I start?

First, thank you!! Beantown Baby has a draft flyer for you to personalize for your organization or you can be provided with an Amazon Wishlist for people to participate in a virtual diaper drive. They typically run for 1-2 weeks or are associated with a specific event (i.e. holiday party). Once the drive is complete, you may contact Rachel at beantownbabydiaperbank@gmail.com who will coordinate pick-up/drop-off.

2023 Diaper Distribution

Between January 1, 2023 - December 31, 2023, Beantown Baby Diaper Bank distributed an astounding 120,000 diapers to its eight partner agencies. In 2022, Beantown Baby Diaper Bank also distributed 120,000! The diaper distributions were made possible because of people’s incredible generosity of time, diapers, and donations. Beantown Baby Diaper Bank will be able to maintain this support in 2024 with your help.

A financial, Amazon Wishlist or Target Wishlist donation are sincerely appreciated and goes directly to organizations with an immediate need. Thank you!!
